HyperTransport High Node Count Specification

The HyperTransport High Node Count (HNC) Specification has been released to address the growing industry demand for highly scalable, resource-efficient, energy-efficient and cost-optimized computing platforms for data center, cloud computing and supercomputing applications. The HNC Specification is the direct result of extensive contribution and collaboration between Consortium members with leading expertise in processor technology, large scale system architectures and high performance subsystem technology.

By clicking on the document icons below you can download an overview and a white paper that describe the value points and target applications of the HyperTransport HNC Specification.

Limited Access and Commercial Licensing Rights to High Node Count Specification

Unlike other HyperTransport Technology Consortium specifications, the HNC Specification is not normally accessible via the HyperTransport Consortium public web pages. Only Promoter and Contributor members of the HyperTransport Consortium have access to it and have licensing rights to commercially implement and market all or any subset of the HNC Specification features in a company proprietary way. Adopter members and Academic members do not have such rights. While somehow limiting, these restrictions on access and use of the HNC Specification have been applied to further extend the return on investment in HyperTransport technology for high-level Consortium members.

If your company is a Promoter or Contributor member of the HyperTransport Consortium, you can promptly access and download the High Node Count Specification by clicking on the Member Login button above and by accessing the Consortium's online Technical Working Group (TWG) Extended Technical Support Database.

If you personally have not yet obtained member login access to the HyperTransport Online Technical Support Repositories, please click here to request it.

If your company is an HyperTransport Consortium Adopter member, the HNC Specification is one more reason to upgrade to Contributor-level or Promoter-level membership and gain extended rights, visibility and influence on HyperTransport technology. Click here and here for more information about high-level membership advantages and let us know if your company would like to upgrade to high level membership.

If your company is not yet a HyperTransport Consortium member, we encourage you to visit our HyperTransport Consortium membership pages to learn more about HyperTransport Consortium membership classes, benefits, fees and how to apply for membership.
