Ushering in the next generation of computing platforms, AMD introduces the AMD-8000™ series of core-logic components designed to support the AMD Opteron™ processor. Implementing HyperTransport™ technology as the system backbone, these core-logic elements deliver outstanding performance and design flexibility. This chipset consists of several "building block" components that can be used together in a variety of system designs.

The AMD-8111™ chipset component integrates the system I/O functions into a single component, thus serving as the system "I/O Hub." The AMD-8111™ chipset component high-level feature-set includes a HyperTranpsort interface, 10/100 Ethernet, EIDE Controller (supporting up to ATA-133), AC'97 Audio, USB, I/O busses including PCI, LPC, SMbus and APIC.

Implementing HyperTransport" technology as the system backbone, these core-logic elements deliver outstanding performance and design flexibility. This chipset consists of several "building block" components that can be used together in a variety of system designs.
AMD introduces the latest edition to the AMD-8000™ Series of core-logic components for AMD Opteron™ and AMD Athlon™ 64 processors. Intended for Server and Workstation applications, the AMD-8132™ component brings the power of PCI-X® 2.0 and HyperTransport™ 2.0 technologies to AMD64 platforms. The high-level feature-set of this component includes HyperTransport 2.0 interfaces (supporting 1GHz, 16x16 Side-A and 16x16 Side-B Interfaces), dual PCI-X 2.0 interfaces (designed to support Mode 1 and Mode 2* operation), embedded I/O APIC for each PCI-X 2.0 interface, and robust internal data management and error handling capability. *Mode 2 operation is being tested.

AMD-8151™ HyperTransport™ AGP 3.0 Tunnel

The AMD-8151™ chipset component provides AGP 3.0 capability to desktop and workstation platforms requiring high-end graphics performance. Included in the AMD-8151™ chipset component are an AGP 3.0 (AGP-8x) interface and a HyperTransport tunnel.
